For the month of June, Integrated Environments (IEL) is continuing on with our Wetland Series and highlighting our Environmental Planner, Cameron Johnston. Cameron has over 8 years of experience and has managed numerous wetland projects here at IEL.
Cam has worked as in Environmental Consulting since 2008, focusing his career on the assessment of wetlands and vegetation ecology. Cameron has provided baseline vegetation assessments for multiple industrial sectors, surveyed and reported for wetland impacts, consulted clients on rare plant mitigation management, and managed the vegetation component of numerous projects from field assessment to regulatory applications. He is experienced in wetland monitoring programs for largescale oil sands projects as well as smaller scale developments. Cameron uses his experience working with clients, regulators, and his team at IEL to ensure responsible developments gain efficient regulatory approvals.
Recently, Cam has teamed up with our Wetland team to develop a cost-effective wetland evaluation tool for our clients called the Rapid Assessment of Wetlands Desktop Review (RAW-DR). IEL now has first firsthand experience saving our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars through wetland avoidance and project adjustments incorporating wetlands – all the while making strides to keep wetland integrity at the forefront of project planning using the RAW-DR tool. Cam, an integral part of our Drone Team and certified drone pilot, has played a role in the development of numerous IEL drone service programs.
